These 2 penthouse apartments in Guadalmina, Marbella are situated 7 floors up, each with roof top swimming pools and extensive terraces. The clients wanted a complete internal and external redesign, including underfloor heating and the installation of solar panels which would provide for all their energy consumption.
Such extensive remodelling and construction so high up in a building creates logistical and technical difficulties. The site was too small for a crane and regulations at the urbanisation stipulated that construction materials were not permitted through the communal areas or elevators inside the buildings. By way of a solution, Promas applied and was granted permission for an external elevator. Permission was not only sought from the president of the urbanisation but the residents also had to agree to it. Here at Promas, we see such obstructions as necessary hurdles to overcome in the process of fulfilling our client´s desires. The lift made the transportation of materials to and away from the penthouses much simpler, furthermore, it was able to stay on site for 6 months allowing Promas to work uninhibited by access issues, a common problem on many urbanisations on the Costa Del Sol.
The two penthouses are now near completion and we are looking forward to seeing the finished renovations.
