Refurbishing two penthouses on the south coast of Spain provided the perfect opportunity for our clients to consider installing a photovoltaic system on the roof. This renewable source of energy would be able to provide for all of their energy consumption, including the new underfloor heating system, appliances and lighting.

With constant increases in electricity prices here in Spain and the reduction in the cost of solar equipment, solar power is a sound investment choice.  Some local authorities are incentivising self-production with lower property taxes for homes with solar systems.

Although able to cover all the energy consumption during daylight hours, our clients have also decided to install a battery in order to store surplus electricity so that they have it available whenever they need it, day or night.

According to solarinspain.com:

“Photovoltaic electricity generates no air pollution, releases no carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide or mercury into the atmosphere. It operates silently, has no moving parts and releases no odours.  In short, it has zero contribution to acid rain, global warming or smog.”

As well as reducing your monthly bills, you can also do your bit to help save the planet!
